Is love conditional? Do certain things have to happen for us to love another person? For some the answer might be yes, but it is not required. We know that God loves us, but how did He show it? Did He wait for mankind to acknowledge Him, to begin to follow Him before He showed His love for us?
Romans 5:8 tells us how and when God showed His love for us.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God did not wait until we were perfect. He did not wait until we confessed our sins. While we were still disobedient, while we were still sinners, God showed His love for us by sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross to be the sacrifice for us. If He waited for us to turn from our sin before He demonstrated His love, then we would never see His love demonstrated this way.
We can be thankful that God demonstrated His love for us this way.
