Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!
A simple verse to understand. When we are in Christ, our lives have changed. If someone tells you that they began to follow Jesus but their not has not changed even a little, then they are deceiving themselves. For some the change is obvious, for others, it may not be as obvious.
For those who have been raised “in the church”, then the initial change that they experience may be minor, like a deeper desire for the things of God. For others a lifestyle might change.
In my journey, there have been several times where God has pointed out something that I needed to change in my life. While there was an initial change in my life, that wasn’t the only one. There have been several along the way.
This passage is also a portion of Scripture where Paul is writing about reconciliation. God allowed a way for us to be reconciled to Him, and we become ambassadors for Him. All part of the new creation that we have become when we follow Jesus.
We are a new creation, we experience a change, when we confess Jesus as Savior and begin to follow Him.
