Jesus Appeared to the Disciples
This lesson can help children understand that the disciples were just like us. They were scared after Jesus’ death and when Jesus appeared it startled them! If Jesus suddenly appeared in the room you are in right now, then how would you react? It would freak me out, but once He said “Do not be afraid”, or “Peace be with you”, I would be much more relaxed, but still in awe. We also see that teachers help us to understand things we may not on our own. Look up Luke 24:33-49 and John 20:19-21 then watch the Bible story & lesson video below.
Bible Story / Lesson (18:35)
Discuss how the disciples were still not sure if Jesus was alive even after He had been seen by some people already and how Jesus explained that the Old Testament prophecies all pointed to Him and how they now understood much of what Jesus was teaching before.

Talk about ways that the Holy Spirit has worked in your life and then have a time of prayer with your family encouraging each family member to take a time to pray.
