It’s hard to believe that the week is beginning to come to an end. We had 20 children which included 3 visitors. Some children also accepted the challenge of memorizing some verses and so with the visitors and the verses, yes I did get silly stringed.
After counting the offering last night, the girls have still given more to support the Porters in Honduras. It looks like, unless the boys launch an amazing come-back, I will be covered in whipped cream Friday evening. Speaking of Friday evening, that is our Family Night at VBS where we will have hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill for everyone as well as some small “carnival style” games and a small moon bounce for the children. This portion will run from 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm and then we will go inside for our last VBS session for the week which will include songs, the drama video, a brief lesson and the final missions offering. At the end, we will head back outside where the boys or girls, depending on who gave more to support the Porters, will “pie” Ms. Peg or myself, respective.
It has been a good week and I am thankful to all who have given of their time this week to reach the children through this ministry.
Praying for Jean who had to miss it to spend time with her daughter who is going through a rough time. Thankful for all of the prep work she did for the crafts for the week. Praying that God brings Jean (and her family) back safely as they travel home this weekend.
