I’m often asked by parents if their child is to young to understand and really make a decision for Jesus. Although we generally hold off baptizing a child until they are 7, there is nothing Biblical about that. I generally tell parents that if they truly understand, then there will be a change in the child. The Bible tells us that when we accept Christ, we are a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). I do realize that a child raised in a Christian home may have a small change, but with that change should be a genuine desire to learn about the things of God.
A college student I know has written his testimony on his blog and you will see that even though he was being raised in a Christian home, there was a change when he realized what Jesus did for him and it wasn’t just words , or the lesson being taught, he knew – it changed his life.

Have you seen a greater desire of your child to learn about Jesus?
This time of year is a great time to share what Jesus did with them. Spend more time talking about Jesus than you do searching for eggs, or eating chocolate bunnies, peeps, etc. Show them that Jesus is important and why by the example of your life.
