We are providing this resource for you to have “Awana at Home” as we are unable to meet during this time. We hope this helps you work with your child in their Cubbie handbook.

Lesson: Jesus is Baptized and Says No to Satan

Verse: John 1:29 (ESV): … Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world
(Short version is in bold)

The Big Apple: God used John the Baptist to help people turn away from sin and prepare to meet the Savior. Jesus is God’s Son, who never sinned. God sent the Savior to take away or sin.

Playtime: Float a Boat

Help your cubbie make a boat out of recycled materials such as a plastic cu, a water bottle, aluminum foil, styrofoam try, etc. Keep it simple.

Let the cubbie float their boat. Encourage them to blow on the boat so it moves through the water.

Prayer: This can be the normal time you might pray or to wrap up the lesson. Ask your child if they have anything to thank God for, or to pray for and then have a time of prayer, encouraging your child to pray as well.

Take time to learn the verse with your child and when they have learned it, you may sign their handbook.

Thank you for taking time to work with your child in their Cubbie handbook.
