What a year this has been! The Elementary KidzChurch curriculum was transitioned from Kidmo to 252Basics which allowed it to coincide with the new format for the Family Service. In June, we launched the first family service with a new format with higher energy music, a skit and a message to engage all age groups. The message format and skit allows families to continue the discussion when they leave the service and we have heard of several references to the messages and how people have incorporated it into family discussions well after the service. God is doing great things in these services.

Also in June we held a VBS that was “off the hook” which led into a weekly series called Summit Seekers continuing the children’s ministry throughout the summer.

With the fall came a new Awana year which carried the energy from the summer and a new opportunity for 6th graders to serve. Allowing these sixth graders to be student leaders gives them an opportunity to serve and be examples to the younger children. As the younger children see the older serving, they will want to serve as well.

As the year wraps up, we are seeing several children coming to know Jesus and desiring to be baptized.

I am truly humbled, and blessed, to be able to serve and see God working in the lives of the children and their families.

I prepare with anticipation of what God will do in the New Year!
