Continuing in my series on spiritual lessons from Minecraft, today we look at one of the early lessons you learn in Minecraft. In survival mode, there is day time and night time. Light and dark. The zombies, creepers and mobs spawn in the darkness, they do not spawn where there is light.
You can read much more about the function of the light in wikis, blogs, etc. But to look at it from a spiritual perspective, Jesus is the Light of the World (John 8:12). When we believe in Jesus, we walk from darkness into the Light.
We also see that the Word of God lights our way. Psalm 119:105 reads, “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”
We see throughout Scripture that God is light, and light is good. As your child plays Minecraft, help them to realize the importance of having the Light of the world (Jesus) in their lives. How they should seek the light and avoid the darkness.
